We offer a complete Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) design, manufacture, supply and installation project management service, which can be tailored to suit your specific requirements.

Setting Higher Standards within the SIP industry

SIPCO has become one of the leading award winning SIP companies in the UK, and have completed several high profile projects, working with both major developers such as BAM, Morgan Sindall and Shepherd Construction, plus over 250 self-build projects. Our Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) offer a solution to the strict requirements of Building Regulations, BREEAM and Passivhaus standards.

Introduction to SIPS

SIP panels have been used and improved in the USA, Japan and Canadasince the 1950’s, and are now a ‘traditional’ method of building homes in these markets. SIPCO have been manufacturing SIPs for several years and adapting and improving the technology to meet the needs of the stringent UK market.

SIPs is an acronym for Structural Insulated Panel System. Joining high performance rigid polyurethane foam insulation to oriented strandboard (OSB) producing engineered building components. SIPs are becoming a preferred modern method of construction (MMC). The result is a building product that is predictable, resource efficient and cost effective. SIPs are used as walls and roofs on all types of buildings.

Structural Insulated Panels or (SIPS) are an advanced structural timber construction method, offering superior insulation, structural strength and air-tightness when compared with traditional building methods. The composite panels are lightweight, quick to erect and do not suffer from compression shrinkage and cold bridging associated with stud walls.

Application of SIPS

SIPCO SIP building system has been manufactured for use in a variety of building applications, for example: Self build homes, Social Housing, Schools, Commercial Buildings, Community Centres, Retail, Supermarkets, Hospitals, Colleges, Hotels, Leisure Centres and Garden/Gym Rooms.

SIP Manufacture and Fabrication Processes

We have invested in ‘state of the art’ processing equipment for Structural Insulated Panels and computer numerical controlled (CNC) equipment to machine panels to exact shape and size. The sophisticated technology assures a consistent high quality product manufactured to a tight tolerance. A fast response and high volumes are achievable and can help to reduce build programmes.

Our reputation has been built on high quality products and customer care, with a market leading blend of guaranteed performance and competitive pricing. Continual innovations have resulted in reduced installation costs, improved performance and a commitment to quality, health and safety and the environment.

Working in an open and honest way - being dependable and collaborative, we continually adapt to our client needs and taking pride in achieving excellence in everything we do through a culture of continual improvement.

As first time self-builders developing a small building plot which housed a 1950s bungalow into a remarkable contemporary three storey family home was quite daunting but SIPCO held our hand throughout the process and delivered a first class service during the project. We were invited to visit their manufacturing facility and provided several references to give us the confidence that SIPS were the right technology for our home and SIPCO was the right supplier for us.
